Yes, you can use Stardew Valley mods on Android, but only with an unofficial SMAPI port that the game’s wiki considers experimental: many mods work, not all of them, and sometimes you have to use older versions. There are no mods on iPhone and iPad, and none on consoles either: not on Nintendo Switch, PS4 or Xbox One. Here’s what you can do on each platform and what alternatives you have.
Stardew Valley mods by platform
- PC (Windows, macOS and Linux): yes, with SMAPI, the official mod loader. Also on the PC version from the Xbox app or Game Pass.
- Steam Deck: yes, with SMAPI, on the native Linux version or the Windows version with Proton.
- Android: only with SMAPI for Android, an unofficial, experimental port.
- iOS (iPhone and iPad): there’s no mod support.
- Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS Vita and Xbox One: they don’t support mods, according to the platform table in the official wiki’s player guide.
Stardew Valley mods on Android
The official SMAPI isn’t compatible with Android, because the mobile version of the game is heavily modified. What exists is an unofficial port the community has kept going: MartyrPher made the 1.4 one, ZaneYork the 1.5 one and NRTnarathip the 1.6 one. Before going further, be aware that it’s made neither by SMAPI’s author nor by the game’s studio, and that the wiki treats it as experimental.
Requirements
- Stardew Valley 1.6.15.1 or later, from the Play Store or Galaxy Store.
- A 64-bit Android system.
- SMAPI for Android, from its Nexus Mods page: version 4.3.2 (as of October 2026).
- The SMAPI Launcher app, which is installed as an APK outside the official store. It’s published on the project’s GitHub page, SMAPILoader, by NRTnarathip.
How to install it
Installing an APK outside the store has its risks: download it only from the project’s official page and never from third-party sites. With that clear, the steps the wiki describes are:
- Install the SMAPI Launcher APK.
- Download the SMAPI for Android .zip from Nexus.
- Open the launcher and choose «Install SMAPI From Zip».
- When it’s done, tap «Start Game».
Mods go in /storage/emulated/0/StardewValley/Mods. As on PC, each mod goes in its own folder, with its manifest.json. The general process for the Mods folder and dependencies is covered in how to install Stardew Valley mods.
Which mods work on Android
According to the wiki, most mods and content packs work, including Content Patcher, but not all. SMAPI for Android lags behind the PC version (4.3.2 versus 4.5.2, as of October 2026), so sometimes you have to use older versions of mods. Here’s what we know about the mods in our directory:
- With a specific Android file: Content Patcher 2.8.1, Tractor Mod 4.24.3 and Generic Mod Config Menu 1.2.0, a very old version.
- With the Android-compatible tag on their page: Farm Type Manager, Lookup Anything, NPC Map Locations, UI Info Suite 2, Experience Bars, Gift Taste Helper Continued x2 and Ladder Locator. The tag is set by the mod’s page; it’s no guarantee that it works with the current version of the port.
- Ridgeside Village: since 2.5.2 it includes mobile support in the main mod.
- East Scarp: its page warns that it probably doesn’t work 100%, and it offers an optional, experimental patch for a map bug.
- Sword and Sorcery: it might work, but it’s not confirmed.
- Better Crafting: it doesn’t work on Android, which uses a different menu system.
- Data Layers: there’s only an old 1.4 tag; there’s no documented support for 1.6.
As for the rest, their pages say nothing about Android, so we can’t guarantee they work. Test mods one at a time and, before adding content mods, back up your save.
Uninstalling SMAPI on Android
Remove the SMAPI Stardew Valley app and the installer, and delete the smapi-internal folder.
Mods on iPhone and iPad
There’s no mod support on iOS: there’s no SMAPI or any port for iPhone or iPad. If you play on your phone and want mods, Android is the only option.
Stardew Valley mods on Switch, PS4 and Xbox
Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS Vita and Xbox One don’t support mods. There’s no official or community way to use SMAPI on them, according to the platform table in the wiki’s player guide. In the case of Xbox, mods only work on PC, with the Xbox app or PC Game Pass.
Be wary of sites or videos promising «Switch mods» or «PS4 mods» for Stardew Valley: based on what the official wiki publishes, there’s no way to install them.
Alternatives if you play on console or iOS
- PC with Windows, macOS or Linux. That’s where every mod works with SMAPI 4.5.2 (as of October 2026). There’s the list of mods compatible with Stardew Valley 1.6 and our pick of the best Stardew Valley mods.
- Steam Deck. Mods like on PC, with two warnings from the wiki: mods can increase battery drain and, if you use the Windows version with Proton, Steam Cloud doesn’t store modded saves.
- Xbox app or PC Game Pass. If you play with Game Pass, you can use mods on the PC version, with a few extra steps when installing SMAPI that we explain in the installation guide.
- Android. With the unofficial port and its limitations.
If you want to play with mods and friends, remember that every player needs the same content mods. We explain it in our guide to multiplayer mods.

Frequently asked questions
Is there an official SMAPI for Android?
No. SMAPI for Android is an unofficial port, maintained for 1.6 by NRTnarathip. It requires 1.6.15.1 or later and a 64-bit system, and the wiki considers it experimental.
Can I put Stardew Valley Expanded on my phone?
Our SVE page doesn’t say anything about Android, so we can’t confirm it. Of the expansions in our directory, Ridgeside Village is the only one with built-in mobile support.
Are there Stardew Valley mods for Switch or PS4?
No. Neither Nintendo Switch nor PS4 supports mods, and neither do PS Vita or Xbox One. There are only mods on PC, Steam Deck and, unofficially, on Android.
Why does a mod work on PC but not on Android?
Because SMAPI for Android lags behind the PC version and the mobile version of the game is heavily modified. Some authors publish specific Android files, like Content Patcher 2.8.1 or Tractor Mod 4.24.3: use those instead of the latest version.
