ATS sound mods

Here are 18 mods for American Truck Simulator sound: Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel, Mack and Volvo engine sounds, stock or with a straight-pipe exhaust, ambient packs like Sound Fixes Pack, cab soundproofing and sounds for the Mustang from the Road Trip DLC. The ambient mods are up to date for 1.61, the stable version (1.62 is in open beta), but many engine sounds don't list a version or are still marked for 1.58 through 1.60.

The best ATS sound mods to start with

• Sound Fixes Pack: tires that change with the road surface, rain and thunder, railroad crossings, traffic, sirens and trailer coupling. Works with any truck and map, in Convoy too.
• Realistic Rain & Water & Thunder Sounds: more than 40 thunderclaps, raindrops on the windshield and improved water in rivers and lakes. For 1.61.
• CAT C15 6NZ Stock Sound: the 435 to 625 hp Caterpillar C15 with its stock sound, for SCS and mod trucks. By Slav Jerry.
• Cummins ISX Stock Sound: ISX, ISX12 and ISX15 from 370 to 600 hp with EGR, VGT and DPF. Version 2.0 for 1.60.
• Detroit Diesel DD Series Stock Sound: DD13, DD15 and DD16 for the Freightliner and Western Star trucks, including the 2024 Cascadia. Version 4.0 for 1.58.
• Cummins X15 Straight Pipe Sound: the 400 to 605 hp X15 with a straight pipe, a two-stage Interbrake engine brake and a reworked turbo.
• Interior Soundproofing for SCS Trucks and Cars: better soundproofing in 15 SCS trucks and 4 Ford cars, with a version for mod trucks. October 2026.
• 1967 Ford Mustang engine sounds pack: the 289 Windsor with Magnaflow exhaust and a 476 HP version for the Road Trip Mustang.

What to keep in mind

• Stock or straight pipe: "stock" mods imitate the engine with its muffler; "straight pipe" mods sound like an open exhaust. Both replace the sound of a specific engine in the trucks listed on the mod page.
• One sound per engine: if you enable two mods for the same engine, for example CAT C15 6NZ Straight Pipe and the stock one, only the one higher in the Mod Manager plays.
• Version: TruckyMods marks many of Slav Jerry's mods up to 1.58 or 1.60. If the author declares compatible versions and yours isn't listed, the game won't let you activate it.
• Online: in Convoy, mod sounds are only heard by you.
• Installation: subscribe on Steam Workshop or copy the file into DocumentsAmerican Truck Simulatormod and activate it in your profile's Mod Manager.
