The best Stardew Valley graphics mods to start with

• DaisyNiko's Earthy Recolour: a recolor of the valley's outdoors in earthy, less saturated tones, with matching trees, grass and buildings. Version 1.4.4.
• Vibrant Pastoral Redrawn (VPR): a full recolor in vivid pastel tones that also redraws the trees, with add-ons for SVE and East Scarp. Version 2.0.10 for 1.6.14 or later.
• Elle's Seasonal Buildings: the house, barns, coops and the rest of the farm buildings with seasonal changes and dozens of options.
• Medieval Buildings: redraws the farm buildings with a medieval look and seasonal changes.

How to combine retextures without conflicts

• Just one overall recolor: Earthy Recolour and VPR change the same palette, so pick one. To round out the first one, there's DaisyNiko's Earthy Interiors and DaisyNiko's Earthy Interface.
• One texture, one mod: if two mods change the same texture, only one shows up. Two farm building packs, or two portrait packs for the same villager, will override each other.
• Portraits: most load through Content Patcher. Wenhua's Character Portraits needs Portraiture, and Lili's Portraits is installed by replacing .xnb files, so back up the Content folder first.
• Medieval style: Way Back Pelican Town and Gwen's ponds are made to match Medieval Buildings, and Gwen's Medieval Craftables completes the set with chests, kegs and machines.
