They're for 1.6 on PC (the latest version is 1.6.15) with SMAPI, and on each mod page we list the minimum version and the dependencies.
The best Stardew Valley gameplay mods to start with
- Automate: place a chest next to your machines and they'll load and empty themselves. Version 2.6.1 for 1.6.15, with a Spanish translation.
- Tractor Mod: buy a garage with a tractor from Robin and work your farm by area: till, water, plant, fertilize and harvest. Version 4.24.4.
- Better Junimos: Junimos from the huts plant, fertilize, water and gather forage, in the greenhouse too. Version 3.2, from September 2026.
- Skull Cavern Elevator: an elevator in the Skull Cavern, like the one in the mines, which unlocks every 5 floors by default.
- Bigger Backpack: a 48-slot backpack you buy at Pierre's shop for 50,000g. It needs StardewHack.
- TimeSpeed: speed up, slow down or freeze time in the game, with different speeds per area and keys to change it on the fly.
- Cornucopia - More Crops: over 90 crops and 35 vanilla-style trees, with berry bushes and paddy crops.
- Swim: swim in any water in the valley and dive for treasure. Version 4.0.2, from October 2026, rewritten so it doesn't damage your save.
Quality of life, new rules and dependencies
- Fewer repetitive chores: Automate, Better Ranching or AutoAnimalDoors save you daily work without adding new content.
- Easier or harder: TimeSpeed, Crops Anytime Anywhere or Yet Another Fishing Mod make the game easier; RTGOAT's Longevity and Challenging Community Center Bundles make it longer and more demanding.
- Dependencies: Bigger Backpack, Wear More Rings and Yet Another Harvest With Scythe need StardewHack; The Love of Cooking requires Content Patcher and SpaceCore; and Better Quarry Redux is a pack for Farm Type Manager.
- Multiplayer: for Automate, it's enough for the host to have it, and mods that change time only work if the host has them. The ones that add items, like Cornucopia or More New Fish, must be installed by all players in the same version.
If you want to save work without changing the game, start with the quality-of-life mods. To install them, follow the guide to install mods in Stardew Valley, and if you play with friends, the one on mods in multiplayer.
