The best Assetto Corsa tracks that don’t come with the game are free mods, and some are on par with the official ones: LilSki’s Watkins Glen, Road America and Bridgehampton, the laser-scanned Tor Poznań, classics like Feldbergring or Donington Park, and roads like High Force or LA Canyons. They’re all for PC, almost all are downloaded from OverTake, and many require or recommend Custom Shaders Patch (CSP).

Before you install
Assetto Corsa’s official tracks are laser-scanned, according to its Steam page, so the bar is high. To make mods look and run their best:
- Custom Shaders Patch: free; its official website requires 64-bit Assetto Corsa 1.16.3 or 1.16.4 and, as of October 2026, recommends 0.2.11. It adds 3D grass (GrassFX), rain (RainFX), lights and night.
- Content Manager: the community launcher, with a free Lite version. It makes installing tracks and picking layouts easier, although some, like LA Canyons or Sevilla Circuit, are installed by hand.
- Delete the old version before updating a track: Watkins Glen, Sebring and El Pinar, among others, ask you to.
- PC only. There are no mods on console; we explain it in Assetto Corsa on PS4 and PS5.
The full steps are in how to install mods in Assetto Corsa.
Real tracks, laser-scanned or built with LiDAR data
Tor Poznań
The Polish circuit, billed as Assetto Corsa’s first laser-scanned mod track. Version 2.0, from July 2025, adds a 1,480 m kart track and more complex physics; the main layout is 4,083 m long and there’s also a drift layout. Rated 4.97 from over 260 ratings; licensed for non-commercial use only. View mod page
Watkins Glen International
«The Glen», built by LilSki with 2014 aerial LIDAR data and as it was in 2017 and 2018. Four layouts (long, short and two classic ones without the Bus Stop chicane), 43 pit boxes, very capable AI and night racing on all of them. 4.93 out of 5 and over 180,000 downloads. View mod page
Bridgehampton Race Circuit
The Long Island circuit that ran from 1957 to 1997, recreated as it was in the late eighties, among sand dunes and steep elevation changes. Version 2.0 is a complete rebuild, with turn 1 redone from LiDAR data; it has 24 pit boxes (up to 44 by editing the JSON file) and dynamic sand on the asphalt. Rated 4.97. View mod page
Goodwood Circuit
The Goodwood Motor Circuit in Chichester, created by mantasisg with LiDAR data and designed for pre-1970 cars, in the style of the Goodwood Revival. Very bumpy, like the real one, with a wet track variant. It’s 115.8 MB and needs no extras. View mod page
Real tracks modeled from technical data
Road America
The great Wisconsin circuit, by LilSki and Johnr777: 43 pit boxes, AI, dynamic rubber groove and a 4.99 rating. With CSP it adds grass, animated marshals, a blimp and rain; without it, it works just the same, but without animations. View mod page
Virginia International Raceway
VIR, modeled from scratch by Darren Blythe using several technical sources: seven layouts, all with AI, plus DRS zones. View mod page
Okayama International Circuit
Built by Mitja Bonca from the available data, without scanning: the 3.7 km GP layout, the 2 km Piper layout and the Formula Drift Japan layout, with 36 pit boxes, AI and DRS. Every road in the surrounding area is drivable. View mod page
Donington Park
One of the most downloaded mod tracks, with over 340,000 downloads and 4.93 out of 5: GP and National layouts in a single install, 24 pit boxes and 2018 configuration. It doesn’t need CSP, although it doesn’t include rain or night lighting either. View mod page
Also worth a look: Riverside, as it was in 1988 and with four layouts, and Sebring 2021, with CSP grass, lights and rain, although unfinished. If you own the Dream Pack 1 DLC, Nordschleife Tourist Enhanced adds seven Touristenfahrten layouts to the official Nordschleife (it also requires CSP and Content Manager).
Fat-Alfie’s historic tracks
- Feldbergring: a German public-road circuit used from 1950 to 1954, 11.6 km long with 280 m of elevation change. 4.99 out of 5 from almost 500 ratings.
- Fonteny: a fictional 26 km circuit with 83 corners on real roads in the Morvan (France), with around 100,000 trees and a reverse layout.
- Thomson Road Grand Prix: the Singapore street circuit of the 1961 to 1973 Grand Prix, 4.865 km long with 36 grid spots.
- Deutschlandring: 10 km of a 1930s circuit designed for the 1940 Grand Prix, with night using CSP and a 5 out of 5 rating.
Modern Formula 1
- Spa-Francorchamps 2022: updates the official Spa with the 2022 gravel and Raidillon grandstand. It overwrites the original, so make a backup; CSP required.
- Jeddah Street Circuit: the Jeddah street circuit, rebuilt in 2024 for night racing. Requires CSP and Content Manager.
- Miami F1 Track 2022: with DRS zones and braking markers; requires an up-to-date CSP and stFlow, with a skin for anyone playing without CSP.
- Circuit Gilles Villeneuve: Montreal in a 2015 alpha version, lightweight (82 MB) but with empty surroundings.
Mountain roads and hillclimbs
High Force
About 30 miles (around 48 km) of North Pennines roads, from the author of Donington Park, with five starting points and up to 60 cars online. It has no AI or cameras: it’s for driving solo or on a server. It needs CSP for the included configuration. View mod page
LA Canyons
A loop of about 42 km through the San Gabriel Mountains, north of Los Angeles, with six layouts, free roam mode and pursuit mode. 4.95 out of 5 from over 770 ratings. It’s installed by hand, and there are paid VIP extras sold separately. View mod page
Mulholland Drive
The 17.7 km of the road through the Los Angeles hills, by Todd K, with an AI race variant and a free roam mode with two-way traffic. CSP required. View mod page
More roads: Topanga Canyon (20 km, by the same author), Santa Monica Mountains (photogrammetry alpha, 2.3 GB), Pacific Coast (23 km through Big Sur), Evo Triangle (32 km in Wales) and Wicklow Mountains (Ireland, with GrassFX required). For hillclimbs, Goodwood Festival of Speed 2017 has HQ and LQ versions for modest PCs, Borgloh 2024 is built with LiDAR, and Glava Zete covers almost 7 km in Montenegro. If you like stages, also check out Assetto Corsa rally.
Fictional layouts and open maps
- Mountain Route: a made-up 32 km road through forests, with 20 pit boxes and AI, designed for cars with 200 to 400 hp. Without CSP it needs the stFlow shader.
- Autobahn: 30 km of fictional German autobahn where the AI keeps to the right lane. Only 38 MB.
- Union Island: a Caribbean island with over 30 km of roads in free roam mode and two AI routes; 4.98 out of 5.
- Glencoe: about 120 km of roads and forest tracks in the Scottish Highlands, for exploring without a stopwatch.
- Kanazawa Free Roam: over 50 km inspired by Kanazawa (Japan), with traffic, a circuit, rallycross and a highway. Requires CSP 0.1.75.
- Shutoko Revival Project: the Tokyo expressways, the most played mod map. Only download it from its official website.
Tracks from Spain and Latin America
From Spain you have the Circuito de Jerez (no special requirements, 35 pit boxes and AI), Jarama (lightweight, with basic surroundings), Sevilla Circuit (LiDAR data, version 0.7.5 in development), Madrid’s Madring (a 2024 sketch that requires CSP and Content Manager), the Hillclimb Arona in Tenerife, and the four kart tracks of Euskadi Karting. The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is already official from Kunos. Spanish stages and hillclimbs are covered in Spanish tracks for Assetto Corsa.
Standouts from Latin America:
- Autódromo El Pinar (Uruguay): more than ten configurations, night and rain; version 2.2.1, the final one.
- Autódromo Las Vizcachas (Chile): built with drone photogrammetry, with four layouts and 20 pit boxes.
- Potrero de los Funes (Argentina): a street circuit around a reservoir, with two layouts and 32 pit boxes.
- Autódromo de Tocancipá (Colombia): six variants, including the reverse one, rebuilt from scratch for the APVS.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the best mod track for Assetto Corsa?
By rating, Road America, Feldbergring and Fonteny come close to 5 out of 5 on OverTake, with hundreds of votes. For a modern real-world circuit, Watkins Glen; for road driving, High Force or LA Canyons.
Where are Assetto Corsa tracks installed?
In the game’s content/tracks folder, or by dragging the file into Content Manager when the author allows it. We explain it step by step in the installation guide.
Do I need Custom Shaders Patch for mod tracks?
Not for all of them: Jerez and Donington Park work without it. But many require it and almost all look better with it, so it’s worth installing.
Why won’t a mod track load, or why does it crash the game?
The most common causes are leftovers from an old version, missing CSP or the stFlow shader, an incompatible third-party app (it happens with Road America), or an installer that doesn’t copy everything. Delete the old folder, check the requirements on the mod page and try installing it by hand.
Do they work on console or in Assetto Corsa EVO?
No. They’re mods for the original Assetto Corsa on PC; neither the console editions nor Assetto Corsa EVO support these tracks.
